XT Telescopic Mast Range
The regular need for a stable, unguyed mast for civil and military applications
was the reason for the development of the XT Series. The mast has proved
its usefulness in the most extreme conditions all over the globe.
Built into or on to vehicles, the XT mast can carry headloads up to 130 kg and up to 26 metres. The top of the mast is provided with a substantial flange for the attachment of surveillance equipment, small radars, line of sight links, etc. Extra stability may be added using kevlar or steel guys.
The XT Series has two variants with the same stability. One with plain collars (minimised retracted height) and one with clamp collars to enable the mast to remain extended indefinitely.
The standard XT mast has 8 sections creating a mast with a good retracted/extended height ratio. However, masts may be built with up to 2 sections more or 4 sections less. These special models may be available whenever the application and delivery period demand. Similarly when the vertical retracted height of a mast is too high for general road use, a roof trolley system enables the mast to be carried horizontally on the roof.
Weight has been especially considered when designing the XT Series, all without sacrificing rigidity. This makes them very suitable for vehicles and trailers where cross-country ability is essential. Head is attached by means of a flange, details of which are on the XT Technical Data Sheet.

Mounting Accessories
If desired, the mast can be provided with a rotatable base and other accessories when directional use is requested. For exceptional stability, masts can be guyed.
Roof Bearing - Cat. No. 13025
The perfect way of sealing the vehicle roof where the mast is fitted inside a vehicle and must still
be rotatable.
Upper Mounting Bracket - Cat. No. 14232
When an XT mast is mounted externally on a vehicle or shelter this bracket, with teflon bearing
for turning the mast, supports the upper part of the mast base tube.
Lower Mounting Bracket - Cat. No. 14233
This bracket should be used in combination with the above upper mounting bracket, to support
the base of the mast.
Mast Bases
Fixed Base - Cat. No. 13600
The simplest possible base for a non-retractable mast.
Rotatable Base - Cat. No. 13601
Rotate the whole mast on this ball bearing base.
Some Typical Applications
One of the main attributes of the Clark Masts XT Series is the rigidity which
lends itself to many applications. Headloads are getting heavier and often
are a far cry from the simple antenna of yesterday. We show here some of
the roles which XT masts have played in recent years carrying radars, thermal
imaging devices, D.M.E. beside the expected dish and gonio antennas.
